Transfer value of Issa Kabore after Wrexham stance on permanent deal for Man City loanee made…

Issa Kabore has shone during his brief stint at the Racecourse Ground and there has already been talk of a permanent Wrexham transfer.

The right-back was a late addition to Phil Parkinson’s squad, signing on the evening of transfer deadline day.

Issa Kabore has had a fantastic start to life in North Wales, already notching three assists in four Championship matches.

Graeme Bailey told The Wrexham Insider this week that Wrexham would ‘love’ to keep Kabore, though stressed nothing is decided yet.

He said: “Issa Kabore has been outstanding for Wrexham, them getting him to drop into the Championship was a major coup and they are delighted with how it has gone. Clearly Wrexham would love to keep him, but nothing is decided yet.

“City are keeping tabs on him and will assess. Let’s not forget City are not blessed with many right-back options so could we see him get a chance? Unlikely, but let’s see how it goes in the coming months.”

But just how much is the 24-year-old worth?

Issa Kabore transfer value

Kabore joined Manchester City in 2020 from Belgian outfit KV Mechelen, though he’s never actually made an appearance for their senior side.

He has instead had a plethora of loan spells at the likes of Luton Town and Benfica.

Kabore’s Man City contract is due to expire at the end of June 2027, meaning he will have a year left to run once his Wrexham loan ends.

12 months is a pretty short amount of time for a player to have left on their deal, and it usually means a club will sell so they do not lose their asset for nothing a year later.

Kabore’s contract situation may have something to do with his declining value.

According to Football Transfers, the defender was valued at €7.8m in June 2025.

That estimate dipped to €4.7m in September before taking another fall at the beginning of October when his value was said to be €3.8m (around £3.3m)

What Phil Parkinson has said about Issa Kabore

Kabore signing on deadline day meant he did not make his Wrexham debut for a couple of weeks, thanks to the September international break.

When he did, however, the Man City loanee played a crucial role in the Dragons picking up only their second league win of the season, notching a 3-2 victory versus Norwich City.

A week later, Kabore was praised by Parkinson after he set up another goal in the stalemate against Derby County.

He said: “Issa was brilliant again today. It’s his quality, but he fights for every ball, he gets back quickly, he’s a good defender, and that was a goal that will be up there with the contenders for one of the best goals in the Championship today.

“He plays with a real heart and commitment. When we watched him, I really liked that about him. He runs back as quick as he goes forward. He’s tenacious, he wants to win, and he’s a great signing for us.”
