Matthew Golden’s message before Packers-Bengals has fans expecting monster Week 6 game

The Green Bay Packers know that they have someone special downfield in the form of rookie wide receiver Matthew Golden. The former Texas Longhorns star wideout has yet to put together a performance that most fans and experts will certify as his breakout in the pros, but he has clearly shown flashes of his immense potential in the first four weeks of the 2025 NFL season.

Coming off a bye in Week 5, Golden and the Packers will look to collect their third win of the season this Sunday, when they host the Cincinnati Bengals at Lambeau Field.

On Saturday, Golden hopped on social media to drop a message.

“🤘🏾 DAT WAY,” Golden’s post read.

He didn’t provide an exact context for what he was referring to, but it could be about his alma mater’s huge win against the Oklahoma Sooners in the Red River Rivalry game on Saturday at the Cotton Bowl in Texas.

In any case, Golden has led many fans online to believe that he’s about to put on a show against the Bengals.

“2 TDs tomorrow king 🫡 breakout game let the league know,” said a fan on X.

Another one said: “MG0 goin craaaazy tomorrow 🫡”

From a commenter: “’m counting on u bro I placed a bet at the casino, so I need u to score a TD tomorrow”

“et’s go get that first TD Tomorrow my dude!!! Going to get my golden jersey soon as you do haha just not sure if I should roll with the home or away ?,” a social media user posted.

Golden has been gaining steam of late. After recording just 16 receiving yards in his first two NFL games, he has come up with 52 and 58 receiving yards, respectively, against the Cleveland Browns and the Dallas Cowboys.

He is still hunting for his first touchdown score in the pros, but it should come sooner rather than later. The Bengals’ leaky defense presents a good chance for him to find the end zone this Sunday, as Cincinnati is just 30th in the league with 31.2 points allowed per game.
