Barcelona’s stance on offering Robert Lewandowski new contract revealed

Robert Lewandowski’s contract at Barcelona expires at the end of the season and it’s looking increasingly likely that this will be his last campaign with the Catalans.

According to Diario Sport, the decision not to give Lewandowski a new contract is “gaining more strength” at Barcelona every day.

The report claims that Barca feel it’s time to move on from the 37-year-old due to his age, “drop in performance and the fact that he can no longer press the opponent at the pace that the rest of his teammates do.”

Lewandowski shouldn’t lack for offers if he does move on, with the Saudi Pro League reportedly keen on his services, while he has said himself he still feels he has a few years left playing elite football.
