Nuno Espirito Santo and West Ham should not be shy in using Lucas Paqueta to influence a key January transfer.

Spanish outlet Estadio Deportivo this week reported that the highly rated 19-year-old could be given the green light to head out of the Bernabeu on loan in January in search of more regular minutes.

The outlet names the Hammers as an interested party, alongside La Liga clubs Real Sociedad and Valencia. It’s certainly an exciting rumour for West Ham given the player’s flair, and perhaps one that could become reality.

West Ham linked with Real Madrid talent Endrick

Spanish outlet Fichajes even claims that West Ham have gone as far as to make contact with Real Madrid over a loan move for Endrick. The Galacticos agreed a deal to sign the talent from Palmeiras back in 2022 but the forward only made the move to Spain in July 2024 for £30 million.

Endrick has gone on to make 37 appearances for Real Madrid, scoring seven goals, but is yet to feature this season. The striker had been nursing a thigh problem but has been an unused substitute in the last four La Liga fixtures.

Admittedly, selling the West Ham project as an exciting place to be right now could be a hard task given the team’s Premier League form. That may well change once Nuno gets his legs under the desk but, even so, the Hammers must not be afraid to think outside the box to land winter targets.

The Premier League side potentially has a trick up their sleeve when courting Endrick. Lucas Paqueta knows the player well from international duty with Brazil and also shares an agent in Jay-Z’s Roc Nation.

Hammers should use Lucas Paqueta to sell project to Endrick

The Roc Nation management group are known for their family feel and West Ham should encourage Paqueta to reach out to Endrick and intermediates. It’s common to hear of players being influenced by peers they already know at a bidding club and Paqueta could reassure Endrick that he will be well looked after at the London Stadium, making it a more appealing loan stay than Real Sociedad or Valencia.

West Ham Zone have unearthed social media footage of the two celebrating together when on international duty and comments from Paqueta on Instagram, calling Endrick ‘Bobby’ - his nickname after Sir Bobby Charlton.

It’s worth West Ham pushing hard for the loan move. Endrick seems the real deal. The striker has received high praise from coaches in the past, including former Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti.

Speaking after a particularly impressing performance in a 1-0 win over Real Sociedad in February, Ancelotti said: "He is spectacular. He has these amazing characteristics he has shown whenever he has a chance. His accuracy is off the charts, he's quick and he still has a lot to improve with the ball.

“But, wow, his dribbling, his runs... the shot he has... he could even score a second goal easily with that great strike off the post... He is just spectacular. Very young, but a very fast learner.”
