Chelsea have been hit by an injury concern to Enzo Fernandez ahead of their trip to face Nottingham Forest after the international break.
The Reds will return to action next Saturday with a visit from Enzo Maresca's Blues (12.30pm kick-off). It has the makings of being a huge game at the City Ground as the hosts desperately need to get back to winning ways.
With less than a week to go before the big Premier League clash, midfielder Fernandez is an injury concern for Chelsea. The 24-year-old has left Argentina’s camp early due to an issue in his right knee.
Fernandez started for his country in their 1-0 friendly win over Venezuela in the early hours of Saturday morning. However, Argentina confirmed later on Saturday that he had left the camp and was ruled out of their upcoming game against Puerto Rico.
The Argentine will be assessed by Chelsea’s medical staff back in London. In a statement, Argentina said: "The Chelsea footballer Enzo Fernández has been withdrawn from the tour due to synovitis in his right knee."

The Blues are already without Cole Palmer, who is expected to be absent for the remainder of the month due to a groin injury. Tosin Adarabioyo (calf), Wesley Fofana (concussion) and Levi Colwill (knee) were absent for the club’s win over Liverpool before the international break, while Trevoh Chalobah served a one-match suspension.
Chelsea are said to hope Tosin will be fit to face Forest, while Fofana has been out on the grass in Surrey and is available again. There is no update just yet on Benoit Badiashile, after he limped off in the second half against Liverpool, but the club are said to be hopeful it is nothing too serious for the Frenchman.
Dario Essugo remains out for the foreseeable future after he had surgery on a thigh problem last month. Liam Delap, too, is expected to be out of action until at least November with a hamstring injury.
Reece James withdrew from England's latest international camp but is expected to be in contention to take on the Reds. Former Forest loanee Andrey Santos is also expected to return after sitting out the past few matches.
It remains to be seen who will be in the home dugout come kick-off next Saturday. Ange Postecoglou is expected to still be in charge but he is under significant pressure after a seven-match winless start to his tenure.
