The Los Angeles Chargers were hoping to take star receiver Quentin Johnston into their AFC showdown with the Miami Dolphins, but that will not be the case. Johnston has been dealing with a troubling injury that will keep him out for Week 6.

The Chargers released their inactive list for the showdown, and Johnston has officially been ruled out. The star receiver has been dealing with a hamstring injury, but it appears that Los Angeles is playing it safe.
Reports indicated that Johnston would be a game-time decision, but the Chargers were also prepared to hold him out due to being cautious regarding his injury. Hamstring injuries can be tricky, and a reaggravation may have sidelined the receiver for additional games.

Johnston leads the Chargers with 377 yards and four touchdowns, which is a tough loss for this offense. However, the team still has Keenan Allen and Ladd McConkey at its disposal.
McConkey had a spectacular rookie season, hauling in 1,149 yards and seven touchdowns. However, he appears to be struggling a little bit in 2025.
McConkey has 213 yards and one touchdown through five games. With Johnston out, this could be a chance for the second-year receiver to get far more targets.
The Chargers are now 3-2 on the season, after dropping their last two games. They need a rebound win, but that could be difficult against the unpredictable Dolphins. With Johnston out, their chances drop a bit more as well.
