The Washington Wizards play their first preseason game on Sunday afternoon when they host the Toronto Raptors (2-1) at Capital One Arena.

Washington comes into the 2025-26 season with hopes of climbing the ladder in the Eastern Conference after finishing last at 18-64 last season. The Wizards added guard CJ McCollum from the New Orleans Pelicans as part of a three-team deal while also adding young wing Cam Whitmore from the Houston Rockets in the same swap, surrendering Saddiq Bey, Micah Peavy, and Jordan Poole to the Pelicans. They also added Illinois wing Will Riley after trading down in the draft with the Utah Jazz. Kelly Olynyk, acquired with McCollum, was flipped to the San Antonio Spurs for Malaki Branham and Blake Wesley, adding to their young core of Alex Sarr, Bub Carrington, and Tre Johnson.
The Raptors will get to see Brandon Ingram in uniform for the first time after he was acquired from New Orleans in a February trade. Ingram gives Toronto another proven scorer to team with Scottie Barnes, Immanuel Quickley, and RJ Barrett. Ninth-overall pick Collin Murray-Boyles from South Carolina has solid two-way potential. Toronto has missed the playoffs three straight seasons but did improve from 25-57 to 30-52 last season despite a bevy of injuries.
Toronto comes off a 107-105 win over the visiting Boston Celtics on Friday night.
