LAKE FOREST, Ill., — The Chicago Bears are back out of the bye week and head to our nation's capital to face off against the Washington Commanders in primetime. It's the second-straight meeting for the two teams, and with last season's Hail Mary win by the Commanders, the Bears have some revenge on their minds.
Coming in at 2-2 overall, the Bears are riding a two-game win streak and have a lot of confidence. Now, they get to showcase it in primetime on Monday Night Football.
This will be a good test for the Bears coming out of the bye week, as the Commanders look like they are hitting their stride as well. While Chicago beat Las Vegas in Week 4, the Commanders had an impressive showing against the Los Angeles Chargers on the road last week. Their run game is the best in the NFL right now and they will be tough to stop in that area, especially with the Bears' struggles defending the run.
There's also the story lines of the Fail Mary from a year ago as well as the No. 1 and No. 2 picks in the 2024 NFL Drafts facing off again as Caleb Williams and Jayden Daniels meet for the second time in the NFL.
As we always do, we are ready to make our staff predictions for this game as well as an x-factor. Make sure to check back with the Bear Report for complete coverage of this game and the rest of the season.
