Darius Slay Injured Against Browns

Pittsburgh Steelers CB Darius Slay exited the team’s Week 6 game against the Cleveland Browns with an injury. Slay was slow to get up following a play late in the third quarter and was attended to on the field by trainers. He ended up walking off the field on his own power, flanked by trainers.

Per the Steelers’ senior director of communications, Burt Lauten, Slay is questionable to return with a shoulder injury.

The Steelers’ secondary was fully healthy for the first time all season today, with Joey Porter Jr. returning from an injury today and the team getting S DeShon Elliott back in Week 4. But with Slay down, the Steelers’ depth will once again be tested, with increased opportunities for Brandin Echols and James Pierre.

Slay has gotten banged up at various times throughout the season, but nothing has been serious enough to keep him off the field for more than a few plays. This injury seems to be more severe, and we’ll keep an eye on if Slay is able to return to today’s game. He had a pass breakup earlier in the game and so far this season, he has 19 total tackles. Four of those have came in today’s game.

This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
