Tua Tagovailoa airs grievances with teammates after Dolphins’ latest loss

The Dolphins have seen better days.

Miami fell to 1-5 after its Week 6 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. The Dolphins cleared a 13-point deficit only to lose in the end.

After the game, quarterback Tua Tagovailoa — who threw three interceptions and was sacked three times — made some glaring comments about his teammates.

“I think it starts with the leadership and helping articulate that for the guys and what we’re expecting out of the guys,” Tagovailoa told reporters. ”We’re expecting this, are we getting that? Are we not getting that?

“We have guys showing up to player-only meetings late, guys not showing up to player-only meetings,” he added. “Do we have to make this mandatory, do we not have to make this mandatory? So it’s a lot of things of that nature that we’ve gotta get cleaned up. And it starts with the little things like that.”

Not much has gone right for the Dolphins this season. Aside from the five losses, they lost Tyreek Hill for the season after he suffered a serious knee injury against the New York Jets on Sept. 29.

Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel said the players meetings are “outside of what I demand,” but believes Tagovailoa will get his team back on track.

“Clearly he’s sending a message. But from my standpoint, everything I’ve asked of guys, they’ve delivered on,” McDaniel told reporters. “And so I’m sure whoever he’s talking to, they’ll deliver.”
