Wizards vs. Raptors final score: Washington loses 113-112 in first preseason game

The Washington Wizards lost to the Toronto Raptors, 113-112 on Sunday afternoon at Capital One Arena. Toronto improved to 3-1 for the preseason while Washington is 0-1 since today was their first preseason game.

The Wizards only lost by one point, but the Raptors were ahead for most of this game and were up by double digits for long stretches in the second and fourth quarters. Washington also led in the last seconds until Olivier Sarr — yes, that’s Alex Sarr’s older brother, made the game winner.

Six Wizards players scored in double digit points, led by CJ McCollum who scored 19 points and got the start. McCollum showed fans why he could give the Wizards some offensive firepower this season.

Alex Sarr, Kris Middleton, Keyshawn George, Cam Whitmore and Marvin Bagley added double figures in scoring. Tre Johnson also scored 8 points in his first game at Capital One Arena.

For the Raptors, Immanuel Quickley led with 18 points.

The Wizards’ preseason is going to be moving real fast, because their next game is tomorrow on the road against the New York Knicks. Tip off is at 7:30 p.m. ET.
