MIAMI GARDENS, Flor. (KYMA, KECY) - The Los Angeles Chargers escaped Miami with a 29–27 victory, thanks to a 33‑yard field goal by Cameron Dicker with just five seconds remaining.
Los Angeles entered the contest looking to snap a two‑game slide and regain footing in the AFC West. Quarterback Justin Herbert stood firm, completing 29 of 38 passes for 264 yards and two touchdowns, and avoided throwing any interceptions. Kimani Vidal led the ground attack, rushing for 124 yards on 18 carries and also caught a touchdown.
Miami was on the brink of victory when Tua Tagovailoa found Darren Waller for a seven‑yard touchdown with 46 seconds left, putting the Dolphins ahead 27–26. On the ensuing kickoff return, Nyheim Miller‑Hines brought the ball to the 41 yard line, and on the very next play Herbert connected with rookie Ladd McConkey on a 42‑yard catch‑and‑run that took the Chargers into Miami territory. Dicker delivered the game‑winning kick to seal the victory. On the Dolphins’ final throw, Derwin James Jr. intercepted Tagovailoa as time expired, ending any hope of a late comeback.
The Chargers now stand at 4-2 and shift focus to their Thursday Night Football matchup against the Minnesota Vikings.
