Manchester United and Ruben Amorim could spend big again in January
Despite revamping their attack over the summer, Manchester United are being linked with another significant signing to bolster their firepower.
The Red Devils are pursuing Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo as Ruben Amorim tries to revive the fallen Premier League giants, despite ongoing speculation about his future. The Ghanaian international won't come cheap, having continued his impressive form with a stellar start to the new season.
A similar case can be made for Crystal Palace sensation Adam Wharton, who has also enjoyed a fruitful campaign so far. Daily Star Sport broke the exclusive that United are eyeing a move for the English midfielder in a £60m deal, but there's already a significant hurdle to overcome.
Here's all the latest news from Old Trafford.
Semenyo tipped for United

Only Erling Haaland (10) has more direct goal involvements than Semenyo (nine) this season. It's no surprise that the winger is drawing attention from some Premier League heavyweights, reports the Mirror.
Bournemouth believe their player, who inked a new five-year deal in July, is worth more than £75million. However, Chris Waddle thinks the Red Devils would be making a wise investment by targeting the 25-year-old.
Waddle told BestBettingSites: "Antoine Semenyo, the winger at Bournemouth, is definitely the best [in the Premier League] right now. Semenyo is good at scoring goals, he's positive, and he gets good goals. When he gets the ball he drives at players.
"I think Bournemouth will struggle to hold onto him. He's really talented, and the best winger in the country right now."
Much has been made of United no longer possessing the same pulling power with players as they once enjoyed. The club aren't competing in European tournaments this season, which will inevitably present a hurdle for certain players considering a move to Old Trafford.
Nevertheless, Waddle remains convinced the Red Devils will return to their former glory at some stage in the future. He also believes the attraction remains strong enough to secure a player of Semenyo's calibre.
He said: "People might question why someone would want to join Manchester United right now, but they will come good again, and they're a huge club still.
"If Semenyo went to United, he could play just as he is for Bournemouth and be ideal for them. He could play alongside Matheus Cunha, and then he and Benjamin Sesko could spark into life."
Those remarks don't take into account another acquisition, Bryan Mbeumo, who didn't come cheaply given United forked out an initial £65m. Adding further new talent to the attack becomes tricky considering the sums already invested in upgrades this past summer.

It appears inevitable that Adam Wharton will become the next Crystal Palace star to secure a lucrative transfer elsewhere.
But Eagles chairman Steve Parish has hinted that United will face an uphill battle whilst they remain absent from Champions League action.
The 21-year-old is said to be set to attract a £60m bid from the Red Devils. Yet Parish has made clear the player's ambitions to compete at Europe's highest level, with no assurance that United will secure Champions League qualification anytime soon.
He told talkSPORT: "I think Adam at some point will want to play either in the Champions League with us, if we can make that happen, or probably with another club.
"He's an extraordinary talent. I think right now, and I can't speak for Adam, but I think he's focused on his time at Crystal Palace.
"He had a broken season last season with the groin issues that he had that a lot of young players get. I think this season he's completely focused on putting the games in, getting in the England squad, being a regular for us, and making sure that he can show that Saturday, Sunday, Thursday, Sunday.

"It's a difficult programme for us right now. I think he's very committed to the club. I don't know where all this stuff comes from."
The Red Devils missed out on European competition entirely this campaign following their dismal 15th-place Premier League showing last term.
Ruben Amorim's squad climbed to 10th place after securing victories in their last three home matches, but they're still on the hunt for their first away win of the season.
Wharton, who has seen team-mates Michael Olise and Eberechi Eze depart Palace for bigger clubs in the past year and a half, is now arguably Palace's most prized asset.

The Eagles are also competing in Europe this season, vying for the Europa Conference League title, but United could potentially aim even higher in the future.
