Enzo Maresca has safely navigated another spell of games where some Chelsea fans believe he was under pressure in his role as manager of the club.
The mood inside Stamford Bridge turned toxic off the back of the club’s second successive defeat where they threw the game away as a result of a red card.
However, since then Chelsea pulled out a monumental victory against Liverpool, in a game which put an end to their run of three players being sent off in four matches.
The game wasn’t completely clean in terms of discipline, however this time it was the Italian who was given his marching orders after his celebrations for Estevao Willian’s goal.

Matt Law frustrated by Enzo Maresca’s opinion on Chelsea’s red card problems
Chelsea’s owners were not fazed by the red card, and Maresca continued to stress that there is no issue with the discipline of his players.
Journalist Matt Law disagrees with this way of thinking, and is actually becoming annoyed with how the boss is neglecting the problem which has affected them in recent weeks.
He said to ‘London is Blue’: “I get frustrated whenever we try & talk to Maresca and he just says there’s no disciplinary problem. Well, there is. If you look at the table of yellow cards… there is a disciplinary issue & they do need to get on top of it.”
Red cards certainly made an impact on defeats against Manchester United and Brighton, however there is a bigger problem the manager is having to deal with right now.

Maresca dealing with injury crisis at Stamford Bridge
Perhaps the biggest issue that the Chelsea boss is dealing with right now is the injury problems that are affecting a number of his key players.
The Blues ended the win over Liverpool with no centre-backs available for selection, with Reece James and Jorrel Hato ending the game at the heart of defence.
Cole Palmer will not return in the next game against Nottingham Forest, and Liam Delap will also be missing from the attack.
There are now question marks over James and Enzo Fernandez after the duo returned back to Cobham despite being named in their international squads for the current break.
