Everton are set to hand Jordan Pickford a new contract in a huge boost for David Moyes' side. Pickford, 31, remains one of Everton's most important players and made his 300th appearance for the Toffees during their dramatic 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace before the international break.
The goalkeeper, who joined Everton in a £30million move from Sunderland in 2017, is now the club's second-longest-serving player behind captain Seamus Coleman, pipping Michael Keane by a mere two days. Pickford's outstanding form has been crucial in Everton avoiding relegation in recent seasons.
Now Moyes and The Friedkin Group have ambitions of moving up the Premier League, and they want Pickford to help lead the charge. The ECHO recently reported that the England international was closing in on signing a new long-term deal, and now a report from The Times states that his contract is set to be extended until 2029.
His extension would follow that of James Tarkowski, who penned a new deal last week, and Jarrad Branthwaite's from July. It's added that Everton plan to offer new contracts to both James Garner and Vitalii Mykolenko, with the pair's respective deals expiring at the end of this season.
Pickford's current terms expire in 2027 but his long-term future is close to being secured but the Toffees. The 31-year-old is expected to win his 80th cap for England on Tuesday in Latvia, where the Three Lions can seal qualification for the World Cup.

It's been a year since Pickford last conceded a goal for his country. Last Thursday's 3-0 win at home to Wales saw him break a record shared by him and Gordon Banks; becoming the first England goalkeeper to play successive eight games without conceding a goal.
England boss Thomas Tuchel hailed his achievement and performance post-match. "It's not easy to stay focused in a dominant first half like that; have basically nothing to do and then suddenly, I think in the 42nd minute, there's a situation where it always can be dangerous," Tuchel explained.
"And second half, he had a very difficult save to close his legs very fast. He's a fantastic shot-stopper. There is no doubt about it. Today, there was a challenge for him because they pressed us high. And we want to escape the pressing.
"We want to have the chance to escape the pressing, also with short passes, and not only with long shots from him. So, he did very well. He kept his composure. He kept calm. This is basically what we demand of him .He stayed calm, kept his focus.
The German also praised Pickford's tactical understanding, saying: "It's like, always a team effort, and I think he's happy to share this with at least the defenders in front of him
"But with a defensive approach that we make it the least saves possible from him, but he's doing good. Well done, congratulations. Fantastic achievement."
