Borussia Dortmund could be set to return to Chelsea to sign another player from the Club World Cup winners next year.
In the last transfer window, Dortmund bought Carney Chukwuemeka from the Blues while loaning Aaron Anselmino.
They also sold Jamie Gittens to Chelsea, so the two clubs have done a lot of business with each other recently. Gittens has made a slow start at Chelsea, but the young winger still has plenty of time to show everyone what he is capable of.
One of Gittens’ current Chelsea teammates could now get the opportunity to join his old side in 2026.

Borussia Dortmund interested in Axel Disasi
Axel Disasi remains frozen out of Chelsea’s first-team squad, but Dortmund could offer him an escape route out of Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.
According to Bild, Dortmund are interested in signing the central defender next summer ahead of the potential departures of Nico Schlotterbeck and Niklas Sule.
Schlotterbeck is being linked to other clubs, while Sule’s contract expires in 2026.
A move to Dortmund would see Disasi reunite with Niko Kovac, who managed the 27-year-old at AS Monaco.
Chelsea have had problems in central defence this season, with Enzo Maresca currently without Levi Colwill and Tosin Adarabioyo. Maresca will hope to have Adarabioyo back for Chelsea’s next game against Nottingham Forest, but Colwill is not expected to return until the end of the campaign.

Chelsea’s stance on Axel Disasi return amid injury issues
Despite all of the problems that Chelsea have had in central defence, Disasi has not been brought back in from the cold and the Frenchman is likely to remain there.
Earlier this month, it was reported that Chelsea have no plans to reintegrate Disasi into the first-team squad, so it looks as though he has definitely played his last game for the Blues.
Dortmund could now be his next destination, though Disasi may have to wait until next summer before he can secure a move to the German club.
