Matt LaFleur couldn’t keep his comments clean about Jordan Love after Packers-Bengals

Matt LaFleur and his Green Bay Packers are back to their winning ways, as they came away with a 27-18 victory against the Cincinnati Bengals at Lambeau Field on Sunday. It was Green Bay’s first win since Week 2’s takedown of the Washington Commanders at home.

The Packers had a 14-point lead in the fourth quarter after tight end Tucker Kraft found the end zone off a 19-yard pass from quarterback Jordan Love. The Bengals threatened a bit when wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase scored a 19-yard touchdown reception, followed by a successful two-point conversion with under five minutes left in regulation, but the Packers weathered that comeback attempt.

Love put up solid numbers leading Green Bay’s passing offense versus Cincinnati, as he went 19-of-26 for 259 passing yards and a touchdown. His biggest misstep was an interception in the first quarter, but he recovered from it.

LaFleur passionately spoke about his quarterback’s showing in the Bengals game.

Via Zach Kruse of Packers Wire:

“Outside of that, I thought he played his (expletive) off,” LaFleur said post-game. “That was one of the better games he’s played for us, in terms of using his legs to convert critical third downs. That third down we had, we ran a roll pass that got gloved, his ability to maneuver through and find a way to pick up a first down. That third down conversion late in the game when they just sacked us and they’ve got all of the momentum, that was a big time play to hit MG (Matthew Golden) there. Quarterbacks, every play is under a microscope. Certainly we never want to give the ball up. But I thought he played his (expletive) off.”

The Packers, who are now 3-1-1, will have days to savor their win against Cincinnati before getting back on the field in Week 7 versus the Arizona Cardinals on the road.
