Arizona Cardinals lose to Indianapolis Colts

INDIANAPOLIS (KYMA) - The Arizona Cardinals faced the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday at State Farm Stadium, looking to put another tally in the win column.

The Cardinals, who were looking to snap a three-game losing streak, were forced to compete without starting quarterback Kyler Murray, sidelined due to a foot injury. In his place, veteran Jacoby Brissett was called upon to lead the offense.

Ultimately, Arizona fell just short, losing 31–27 in a game that came down to the final minutes. Brissett, making his first start of the season, completed 27 of 44 passes for 320 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception.

The Cardinals’ defense put up a strong fight throughout the afternoon but struggled to contain the Colts late. Indianapolis quarterback Daniel Jones threw for two touchdowns while running back Jonathan Taylor added a one-yard touchdown plunge with just over four minutes remaining to put the Colts ahead for good. Arizona’s final drive reached the Colts’ 9-yard line, but the offense stalled in the red zone and turned the ball over on downs.

Rookie wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. exited the game in the second quarter with a concussion, while tight end Travis Vokolek suffered a neck injury on a special teams play and had to be taken off the field on a stretcher.

Arizona now turns its attention to the coming weeks with hopes of getting key players healthy and returning to the win column. It's next chance to do so will be at home against the Green Bay Packers.
