Jaxon Smith-Njigba just taught the Jaguars who the new Seahawks daddy is

Jaxon Smith-Njigba is really good. Seattle Seahawks fans know this, of course, but it's nice when the rest of the NFL learns this. JSN's 2025 road show hit Jacksonville this week, and the Jaguars were embarrassed by Seattle's best receiver, even though they knew it was coming.

At one point in the second quarter, quarterback Sam Darnold, who was mostly good in Week 6, had completed five passes. All of them were to JSN, and for 117 yards. The Jaguars were like an aging boxer when it [came to Smith-Njigba](https://12thmanrising.com/seahawks-jaxon-smith-njigba-gets-brutally-honest-viral-moment-ref-tnf). They knew he was coming like a punch, and they couldn't stop it.

Overall, Smith-Njigba caught eight passes for 162 yards for a touchdown with a long of 61 yards. Oddly, the pass only tied for the Seahawks' longest of the season. AJ Barner had a critical 61-yard catch and run in the fourth quarter to help Seattle cement a victory against the Jaguars 20-12.

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba torches the Jacksonville Jaguars

Still, the Seahawks would not have been in a position to win except for Smith-Njigba. He might not be the most productive wide receiver in the league, though he is close, but he might inarguably be the best route-runner. He won't speed past defensive backs, yet they still cannot keep up with him.

Whenever Sam Darnold needed to have a completion, he targeted JSN. It didn't always work, but he caught eight of his 13 targets. That was 10 more targets than any other receiver had, yet, again, the Jaguars could not stop the wide receiver.

A Pro Bowler this season? Sure. An All-Pro is he continues to trend in his current direction? Absolutely. A Seattle Seahawks record-setter? Absolutely, and he already is.

Through six games, he has 696 receiving yards, a record for the Seahawks through six games. At his current rate, he will have more than 1,800 yards, easily a Seattle record. He might not get there, and maybe the team doesn't need him to. A stronger running game would take yards away from JSN.

One thing is clear, though: He is having the best receiving season for a Seattle Seahawks receiver ever. That is unlikely to stop, [assuming Jaxon Smith-Njigba](https://12thmanrising.com/jaxon-smith-njigba-having-one-three-best-seasons-seahawks-history) stays healthy. He is making 12s forget about DK metcalf, and that's a good thing. Getting rid of Metcalf has allowed JSN to fully bloom, and the Seahawks are better off for it.
