KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KLTV) - Former Whitehouse Wildcat Patrick Mahomes became the fastest player to pass for 300 touchdowns on Sunday night in Kansas City’s 30-17 win over the Detroit Lions.
Mahomes scored four touchdowns on the night.
Mahomes was 22-of-30 for 257 yards and three touchdowns through the air. On the ground he had 10 carries for 32 yards and a touchdown. Late in the first quarter, Mahomes threw his 300th-career touchdown pass to Xavier Worthy to put the Chiefs on the board. With 40 seconds remaining in the first half, Mahomes rushed for a 1-yard touchdown to cap off an 11-play, 41-yard drive to put the Chiefs ahead 13-10.
On the first drive of the third quarter, Mahomes engineered a 10-play, 81-yard drive that was capped off with a 9-yard touchdown pass to Hollywood Brown to put the Chiefs up 20-10. Mahomes and the Chiefs found the end zone one more time in the fourth quarter with a 3-yard touchdown pass to Brown again.
The Chiefs (3-3) host the Las Vegas Raiders (2-4) on Oct. 19.
