“Losing a Draft Pick” Jaxson Dart Incident May Result in ‘Severe’ Punishment for the Giants…

Jaxson Dart and the New York Giants are off to a 2-1 start with the rookie under center. Dart has sparked new life into a Giants team who desperately needed it. However, it won’t get any easier as four of their next gives games are against the Denver Broncos, Philadelphia Eagles, Green Bay Packers and the San Francisco 49ers.

Now, the team could be looking at a severe punishment that occured on the sideline.

It’s likely that the Giants will face ‘severe’ punishment for the Jaxson Dart incident (Breaking News)

New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart (6) calls a play from the backfield during a Thursday Night Football game between the New York Giants and the Philadelphia Eagles at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford on Oct. 9, 2025.

A sideline incident dealing with quarterback Jaxson Dart and head coach Brian Daboll could result in a severe punishment for the New York Giants:

After Dart took a big hit in the third quarter, the first round NFL Draft pick needed to go into the medical tent. The NFL has strict rules about the medical tent and concussion protocols. However, Daboll violated those protocols, when he followed Dart into the medical tent and had a conversation with the team doctor.

Daboll said that he simply wanted to know if Dart was going to be out, because he needed to make a decision on what to do with the football. However, he could still face punishment.

“I spoke to Coach Daboll this morning about approaching the medical tent last night. While I firmly believe, as he has stated, that he was not trying to influence the process in any way, he understands that the appearance of going to the tent is inappropriate. We have protocols in place as a league to ensure player safety, and we need to allow our medical staff to execute those protocols without interference. We understand the situation is under review by the NFL and the NFLPA, and obviously we will cooperate fully,” Giants owner John Mara said.

According to Fox Sports insider Jay Glazer, the Giants could face a significant fine for the incident, though nothing further.

“Giants bracing for hefty fine but nothing more severe expected at this point for Brian Daboll going to blue medical tent on Thursday night,” he said.

However, on Sunday night, NFL insider Mike Florio reported that the Giants could actually face a severe punishment, like losing a draft pick.

From NBC Sports:

“Speaking on Football Night in America, Florio said the league is taking the review of the Giants’ Week 6 concussion evaluation of Jaxson Dart “very seriously.” Florio also points out that rookie RB Cam Skattebo entered the blue medical tent while Dart was being evaluated, which is a violation. According to Florio, the league will meet with “all relevant medical staff, coaches, and players” involved with the matter. This situation remains under review. We will be sure to check back with any updates as they are received.”
