Jason Licht: Offensive Help Is Coming To Detroit
October 13th, 2025
Will Mike Evans be ready?
The Bucs are 5-1, proud owners of the best record in the NFC, without many of their best players available.
It’s a beautiful and unfortunate reality.
Help, however, is on the way next week. That comes directly from the highest of high Bucs priests not named “Glazer.”
Before yesterday’s kickoff, general manager Jason Licht hopped on the Buccaneers Radio Network and declared that help is on the way.
“Next week we’re hoping to get a couple back and some other players back, too, at least one other on offense,” Licht said with authority.
So who is returning on offense? Joe guesses it’s future Hall of Fame receiver Mike Evans, who has missed the past three games with a hamstring injury. When Evans popped/pulled/strained his hamstring against the Eagles on Sept. 21, Joe heard in the locker room that the injury wasn’t major and subsequent reporting speculated Evans would miss three or four games.
It could be the other “Mike,” guard Michael Jordan, but Joe doesn’t believe that’s where Licht’s brain was when he made the comment.
Joe doesn’t expect stud running back Bucky Irving back next week. And Luke Goedeke, well, nevermind.
Licht also talked about how proud he is of the Bucs’ depth and preparation.
“So we’ve got get through these games, do whatever we can to win like Todd [Bowles] and his staff have been doing,” Licht said. And I’m very proud of what we’ve been doing with the resiliency and how we’ve won here. Especially with the play of our quarterback at the end of the games.”
