Despite the loss, the Jacksonville Jaguars delivered another gutsy performance, though it definitely felt like they took a few steps backward. Rookie Travis Hunter got caught standing offside, which negated an impressive touchdown catch and run by Brian Thomas Jr. that would have put six points on the board. Overall, they committed 10 penalties for 76 yards, a significant increase from the four penalties for 25 yards last week against the Chiefs.
The running game wasn't clicking, and the defense didn't manage a single takeaway for the first time this season. Like all games, a few players stood out, while others looked lackluster. Let's get into it.
Jaguars winner No.1: Wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr.
While his stat line might not have compared to Seahawks wideout Jaxon Smith-Njigba—and he had a critical third-down drop—it was by far his best game of the year. He caught eight balls on ten targets for 90 yards and a touchdown. He and Lawrence seemed to be more in sync than in previous games. Hopefully, this bodes well for the future, even if it didn't end with a win.
Jaguars winner No. 2: cornerback Montaric Brown
Yes, I know he got smoked by Smith-Njigba more than once, but he responded. Covering what might be the league's second-best receiver isn't easy, and he had two major pass breakups in a row that almost singlehandedly forced a punt. He ended the game with three tackles and wasn't afraid of contact, coming up to the line in running situations to help keep the Seahawks at only 60 yards on the ground. After the Tyson Campbell trade, Brown stepped up and did an admirable job filling a big hole.

Jaguars loser No. 1: Kicker Cam Little
Before today, Jaguars kicker Cam Little had never missed an extra point in his entire career, from high school (24/24) to college (129/129) and so far into his second NFL season (40/40). He even made a 70-yard field goal in the first week of the preseason against the Pittsburgh Steelers. If you'd have asked me going into this game who I thought would hold us back, No. 39 wouldn't have been on the list.
Yet in the Jaguars' Week 6 loss against the Seahawks, Little missed an extra point on the game's first touchdown, then a 50-yard field goal attempt late in the second quarter. The missed field goal set up a short field for Seattle, which led to a quick touchdown. He also kicked an inopportune touchback—which aren't good things anymore—letting Sam Darnold and company start at the 35-yard line. Overall, he took four points off the board.
Jaguars loser No. 2: The offensive line
Maybe the Jaguars missed center Robert Hainsey, or maybe the Seahawks' defensive front just played that well. Either way, Lawrence was sacked seven times—more than he has been all season—and they only managed 59 rush yards, averaging a measly 3.1 per carry. Most of the Jaguars' penalties were on the offensive line. It was their worst performance as a unit this season. Brent Mertineau highlighted their terrible first-half performance, which didn't improve after that.
Trevor Lawrence is having a hard time getting to his drop before someone is in his lap. Worst half of football for this offensive line this season.

Jaguars loser No. 3: The secondary (sorry Greg Newsome II...)
It wasn't so much that they gave up a ton of yards; it's that they gave up a ton of yards to a single player. Smith-Njigba accounted for 162 yards by himself, 61 of which he earned by running by the newly acquired Greg Newsome II. Given his short week, I'm putting this more on the Jags' secondary as a whole rather than the former Cleveland Brown. It was a personnel change midseason, so there's hope they can adjust.
Final thoughts
It was an ugly game, and a few of Jacksonville's typical winners slipped into the loser column. Let's hope this was a blip rather than a new standard as the Jaguars look ahead to London and the Los Angeles Rams next week.
