Robert Griffin III has responded to the claims he used a racial slur

Former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III has hit out at the infamous X account user Dov Kleiman for claiming he used a racial slur during a FOX Sports broadcast.

Having been released by ESPN last year, Griffin, a former Heisman trophy winner, joined FOX Sports as a college football analyst for the 2025 season. This past weekend, Griffin, who was involved in a shocking car crash earlier this month, was on the call for Texas Tech's clash with Kansas, in a game that saw the former come out on top in a 42-17 rout.

A controversial moment happened during the game when Texas Tech's J'Koby Williams ran for a big gain, with Griffin heard on the call joking for someone to get the Red Raiders running back "some milk". However, some fans thought the former Washington, Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens quarterback said something very different.

Posting on X with a video attached of the moment in question, Kleiman wrote: "TRENDING: This College football announcer has gone viral for forgetting that he was on Live TV. 'Get that ----- some milk.'"

In response, Griffin fired back at Kleiman's claim. Reposting the initial comment, the former NFL quarterback wrote: "I clearly say “Get that MAN some milk.

He added: "'Y’all Funny Though."

Since being dropped by ESPN as part of a network shake-up, Griffin has found his footing as a college football analyst. Speaking to Rich Eisen on 'The Rich Eisen Show' at the time of his firing, the former Baylor star admitted he was surprised to have been fired by ESPN.

"To say I was surprised [about getting fired], I had already been assigned a team for college football. I was going to be back with my [broadcast team]. It hurt me for them, not because they need me because they don't," explained Griffin.

He continued: "That's the thing about this business — nobody needs anyone. But just because we were so close, and we were kind of getting the chance to rekindle that fire. That had already been assigned."

And after seeing Texas Tech rout Kansas, Griffin also believes that right now, the Red Raiders are a top-five college football team.

Posting his top 12 college football teams after seven weeks of the 2025 season, Griffin's rankings are as follows: 1. Indiana, 2. Ohio State, 3. Miami, 4. Ole Miss, 5. Texas Tech, 6. Texas A&M, 7. BYU, 8. Georgia Tech, 9. Oregon, 10. Alabama, 11. Georgia, 12. Tennessee.

The inclusion of Indiana at 1 is slightly surprising, but not a massively controversial one, given they took down the previously ranked No. 3 Oregon this past weekend on the road at Autzen Stadium.

Indiana also previously beat Illinois 63-10 earlier this season when the latter was ranked No.9 at the time.
