A petition on Change.org is calling for Bad Bunny to be replaced by one of the most decorated country stars in music history.
The petition, which had around 1,500 signatures at the time this story published, wants George Strait to headline the halftime show at Super Bowl LX at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California on Sunday, February 8.
"The Super Bowl halftime show should unite our country, honor American culture, and remain family-friendly, not be turned into a political stunt," the petition read. “Bad Bunny represents none of these values; his drag performances and style are the opposite of what families expect on football’s biggest stage. Again, George Strait embodies unity, tradition, and the timeless American music that truly deserves the 2026 Super Bowl spotlight.”
Bad Bunny, who is from Puerto Rico, is a 3-time Grammy-winning global music superstar. He is the second-most streamed artist on Spotify, behind Taylor Swift.
Strait has had a top 10 hit every year for more than three decades and has 33 different Platinum or multi-Platinum albums to his name.
With 60, Strait is third to only The Beatles and Elvis with number of certifications of any artist in any genre.
“Join us in urging the NFL and related decision-makers to honor American music heritage by selecting George Strait for the 2026 Super Bowl halftime show,” the petition’s author added.
And this isn’t the only call for a different Super Bowl Halftime Show.
Turning Point USA, a grassroots political action network founded by the late conservative activist Charlie Kirk, has announced plans for an “All American Halftime Show.”
No potential artists have been announced yet, but fans can sign up here for announcements and to weigh-in on what type of musicians they would like to see.
