Man United are reportedly keen to sign a young French defender who has attracted a lot of big European clubs.

However, the United boss will also have an eye on the January transfer window, as he will be keen to bring in more talent to bolster his squad depth and build for the future. Seeing as United spent over £170m in the summer, they may not make any big-name signings, but could look to bag themselves a bargain.

United have a recent history of signing younger players with a view to developing them into first-team talent. Chido Obi-Martin and Ayden Heaven were two examples last January, with Leny Yoro an example from the previous summer too. Yoro has become a regular starter for United, and it now seems they have their eye on a fellow French wonderkid.

Man Utd, Arsenal and Liverpool scouting Tylel Tati

As Man United are looking to bring in more talent, reports are suggesting that they have begun scouting 17-year-old French defender Tylel Tati, who has generated interest from several big European clubs.

Tati is a centre-back mainly, but he can also play as a left-back and as a defensive midfielder, and has become a regular starter for French Ligue 1 side Nantes, making six appearances for the French side in the league so far this season.

According to Caught Offside, United have scouted the defender for a potential January transfer window but are going to face competition from Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham, Aston Villa and more, as they have also scouted the 17-year-old.

He is tipped to become a world-class talent in the future, and his manager at Nantes, Luis Castro, is already pleased with his maturity despite being just 17. He said after a recent match against Champions League winners PSG that the defender showed impressive focus.

Castro told L’Equipe: “He played a very good match, he is calm, focused, and at 17, that's not bad.”

Man United also close to signing 17 Y/O midfielder

Dabo is the captain of the Senegal U18s side, and he has also made appearances for the U21s. However, he is yet to make his senior debut, and so a move to Old Trafford could help provide him with the stepping stone to develop into a star.

He could be the next signing in United’s recent youngster additions on top of Heaven, Obi-Martin, Yoro and potentially Tylel Tati. It could be exciting for the future of the club and the academy at Carrington.
