Ruben Amorim‘green lights’Manchester United’s transfer pursuit of Jobe Bellingham

Manchester United are interested in Jobe Bellingham, who could make a return to England after a slow start at Borussia Dortmund, according to reports.

The younger Bellingham brother joined Dortmund from Sunderland this summer for a reported%20in%20add-ons.) £32million.

While he has since made eight appearances for Dortmund under head coach Niko Kovac, the majority of them were as a substitute, with Marcel Sabitzer and Felix Nmecha currently being the first-choice midfield pairing.

According to BILD, a return to England could be on the cards sooner for Bellingham, with two Premier League clubs, Manchester United and Crystal Palace, interested in the midfielder.

The report adds that Ruben Amorim believes Bellingham’s physical prowess and play style would make him a suitable addition to Manchester United’s midfield.

That said, Bellingham is under contract with Dortmund until 2030, and it remains unclear whether Dortmund would be open to letting him leave so soon.

“Everyone wants to play more. Everyone wants to play everything. But then you only need eleven players,” Kovac told Kickers when speaking about Bellingham’s limited game time back in September.

“When you sign a contract here, it’s not only lucrative, but it also means that there’s a hell of a lot of competition.

“Jobe is a very talented player. He has great potential, but also a player who naturally has to grow into this environment.”

Kovac further pointed out that it is “quite a leap” for Bellingham to go from playing for Sunderland in the Championship to Dortmund in the Bundesliga.

However, the fact remains that Bellingham faces a lot of competition for midfield space at Dortmund, and if Manchester United or Crystal Palace are offering him an easier path to regular football, it could tempt him to a move.

At Manchester United, the starting midfield pair is currently Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes, while at Crystal Palace, Adam Wharton and Will Hughes are Oliver Glasner’s preferred midfield duo.
