Chelsea forward Tyrique George scored the only goal as England Under-21s beat a stubborn Andorra to continue their perfect start to the 2027 European Under-21 Championship qualifiers.

Head coach Lee Carsley named an attacking side with George, Chelsea team-mate Jamie Gittens, Fulham midfielder Josh King and Arsenal attacker Ethan Nwaneri all in the starting line-up.

However, it took until the 41st minute at Derby County's Pride Park Stadium for the breakthrough from George.

Gittens, who was a constant threat for the Young Lions, beat two players before cutting the ball back to George who fired a left-footed shot into the roof of the net.

England could have won by a greater margin with George going close before his goal, and Brooke Norton-Cuffy and Nwaneri having good efforts, while King had an effort ruled out for offside.

The win puts England top of Group D with three wins and three clean sheets from three matches.

The U21s are back in action in November when they take on the Republic of Ireland and Slovakia.
