The New York Jets are in disarray, still winless this season as star players clash with coaches on the sideline during games.
Hiring Aaron Glenn and having Justin Fields under center was supposed to help usher in a new era of Jets football after two disastrous seasons with Aaron Rodgers. Instead, New York has fumbled out of the gate, with the Jets' latest loss against the Denver Broncos just indicative of the team's issues.

With the Jets winless over a third into the 2025 NFL season, questions have arisen about what the organization will do moving forward. Of note, Glenn recently defended Fields after the signal caller's poor start against the aforementioned Broncos.

That said, it is being reported that Jermaine Johnson is one of the names being monitored by teams around the league. SNY's Connor Hughes reports that Johnson's name is one that has "come up for several teams" in need of edge rushers, with the 26-year-old being a prime candidate for a trade.
Hughes added that in order for the Jets to move on from Johnson, it would take "a lot" to satisfy what New York is looking for, according to a team involved in potential trade conversations. On X, Johnson posted a cryptic message — only a single eyebrows raised emoji.
Fans on X were left pondering what Johnson's message could have meant, with one posting in reply: "I see we’ve reached cryptic tweet part of the season."

Another fan added that the 26-year-old would see his career take off if he were to leave the Jets. "Bro, trust me on this, your career’s gonna be better off for it! Staying here just means wasting years on losing squads playing for one HC after another. You’re one of my favorites, and I wanna see you win a championship, but it’s not happening here man," the fan wrote.
Though it doesn't appear that the Jets are in a rush to move Johnson, the San Francisco 49ers are a team to monitor as they deal with the losses to Nick Bosa and Fred Warner. If Johnson does get traded to the 49ers, he would pair up once again with former Jets head coach Robert Saleh.
For now, it remains to be seen what New York will do, whether it will trade its assets or move forward with the players it has currently. However, Johnson has only played in three games this season and two last season, missing most of the year with an injury.

What is clear is that Glenn will have his players' backs, regardless of what the voices outside of the team say. After Fields' outing, which saw him complete 9-of-17 pass attempts for 45 yards and zero touchdowns, the head coach shared a message of positivity toward the signal caller.

“When you look at what Justin did, the games that he played — listen, I didn’t think he was bad at all,” Glenn said of Fields amid calls to bench the star.
“I actually thought he did some pretty good things in those four games. In this fifth game, he took a step back. I’m with you guys 100 percent. And we can’t have that.
“We have to get better than that. And he knows that. And he knows that better than anyone. So I don’t think you try to bench a player after having one true bad game. Because I thought the other games he played fairly well.”
