Antetokounmpo brothers make NBA history with Giannis’ brother Alex joining Milwaukee Bucks on…

Giannis Antetokounmpo has made plenty of history so far in what is sure to be a Hall of Fame career. And now, he and his family will be making NBA history together this upcoming season.

As per ESPN NBA Insider Shams Charania, the Milwaukee Bucks will be signing Giannis’ younger brother Alex Antetokounmpo to a two way contract.

With older siblings Giannis and Thanasis Antetokounmpo already a part of the Bucks squad, the addition of Alex means this is the first instance in league history that three brothers will be contracted to the active roster of the same NBA franchise.

While no NBA team decided to draft Alex Antetokounmpo in 2021, he has previously had experience in the G League and has been plying his trade in Europe since 2024. In the G League, Alex was a part of the Raptors 905 in 2021-2022 and Milwaukee’s G League outfit the Wisconsin Herd from 2022-2024, as per ESPN.

After Giannis celebrated a career milestone in September when he led Greece to a third place finish in the 2025 EuroBasket, there was also some talk in the air in the past few weeks that the ‘Greek Freak’ would have potentially considered a move to the New York Knicks.

However, any discussions which the Knicks and Bucks may have had regarding a deal involving the two time NBA MVP never really went too far.

With Giannis set to stay in Milwaukee for at least the foreseeable future, and with Alex about to join he and Thanasis, the three Antetokounmpo brothers will now have the added joy of spending their time at work in each other’s company.
