Nick Wright Doubles Down On His Take About Broncos

The Denver Broncos entered the NFL season as one of the most hyped teams in all of football.

They looked like a juggernaut on both sides of the field in the preseason, and after a promising first year of the Bo Nix era, it seemed like they could be a legitimate dark horse to go the distance.

Fast forward to today, and that may no longer be the case.

At least, that’s how Nick Wright feels.

Following the Broncos’ narrow win over the New York Jets, the controversial pundit took to X to double down on his take of the Broncos not being for real:

“The Broncos are worlds away from being anything resembling a contender,” Wright posted on X.

No matter what happens in the final 2 minutes here, this take stands.

Sean Payton’s team handed the defending Super Bowl champions their first loss of the season.

Then, they struggled to get much going against the only winless team in the NFL.

Granted, international games are always odd, but still.

The Broncos look like the type of team that could legitimately take down anybody on any given day, but they might also lose to even the worst teams in the very next game.

That type of play rarely translates to success.

They have all the pieces they need to succeed, including a proven winner as a head coach.

Unfortunately, though, Nix seems to be yet another victim of the Year 2 regression.

Then again, he was a bit of a slow starter in his rookie season, so if he gets going and finishes the year on a high note, this team could still make the noise some analysts thought they’d made.
