Patriots release 2024 draft pick, only 3 players from the class remain in New England

The Patriots have parted ways with another member of their 2024 draft class.

Fourth-round guard Layden Robinson has been released from New England’s injured reserve after landing there in August. That leaves just three players from the 2024 class: Drake Maye, Caedan Wallace, and Marcellas Dial, who is still on injured reserve.

Outside of Maye, who has been outstanding, the rest of the class looks like a whiff from the Patriots front office, many of whom are still in place despite a regime change under Mike Vrabel.

As a rookie, Robinson appeared in 13 games for the Patriots, starting 11 and playing both guard spots. However, the Texas A&M product struggled in pass protection at times, fell down the depth chart with a new coaching staff this summer, and wound up injured in August. Now, he’ll get a fresh start elsewhere.

Here’s a look at New England’s full 2024 draft class:

1st round (No. 3 overall): QB Drake Maye

2nd round (No. 37 overall): WR Ja’Lynn Polk: Traded

3rd round (No. 68 overall): OL Caedan Wallace

4th round (No. 103 overall): OG Layden Robinson: Released

4th round (No. 110 overall): WR Javon Baker: Released

6th round (No. 180 overall): CB Marcellas Dial: Injured reserve

6th round (No. 193 overall): QB Joe Milton: Traded

7th round (No. 231 overall): TE Jaheim Bell: Released
