Man United could be without three players for their trip to Anfield on Sunday afternoon.

It doesn’t get much tougher for Man United coming out of the international break, as they face one of their biggest games of the season, a trip to Anfield, on Sunday. Ruben Amorim’s side will hope to get consecutive wins by beating a Liverpool side who lost its last three games.

However, it should be a very tough test for the Red Devils, facing a Reds team with the likes of Alexander Isak, Florian Wirtz, and Mo Salah. However, United did show arguably their best form in their last game against Sunderland, and so you never know - especially given Liverpool’s current three-game losing streak,

Ahead of the game on Sunday, Man United could be without three players due to injury concerns, with Liverpool potentially missing five players, including a name who could create a selection headache for Arne Slot.

Liverpool injury news

Liverpool already have two players ruled out ahead of the game on Sunday, with the first name being summer signing defender Giovanni Leoni, who continues to recover from his ACL injury, which is expected to keep him out for the remainder of the season. Goalkeeper Alisson will also miss the game as he is dealing with a hamstring injury, meaning Giorgi Mamardashvili will start on Sunday afternoon.

In terms of players in doubt for Liverpool, centre-back Ibrahima Konate is dealing with a hamstring injury, which saw him subbed off in their last game against Chelsea. If Konate isn’t fit, Slot will likely have to play somebody out of position at centre-back.

Midfielder Wataru Endo is also a doubt with a minor knock that he picked up against Chelsea. If he is fit, the Japanese midfielder could play out of position to replace Konate in defence.

Finally, Ryan Gravenberch is also in doubt, as the Dutch midfielder has been dealing with a hamstring issue. However, it is expected to be minor, and he should be available to start against United on Sunday.

For the Red Devils, only one name has been ruled out of the game against Liverpool on Sunday, with Lisandro Martinez still out of action. The centre-back is close to a return for the first time since February, and could make his full return to the starting XI next week.

Defender Noussair Mazraoui is a doubt for Sunday, as he has been recovering from a hamstring injury over the past few weeks. Having had the international break to recover, it looks as though he will be available for selection against Liverpool if Amorim wants to start him.
