Barcelona have unveiled a special edition kit for the upcoming El Clasico against Real Madrid, featuring British singer Ed Sheeran. The club shared the news on social media with the words:
“Ed Sheeran joins Barça. It’s time to play,” wrote the club on their social media channel.
This announcement follows Sheeran’s recent appearance at an event where he wore a T-shirt displaying the “Play” album logo alongside the Barcelona emblem.
It confirmed that his “Play” album logo would appear on FC Barcelona’s home kit during the high-profile match on 26 October.

The collaboration is part of Barcelona’s ongoing partnership with Spotify, which has regularly showcased different artists on the club’s kit for major matches.
Previous editions have featured global stars like Drake, Rosalía, The Rolling Stones, and Karol G, turning these shirts into highly coveted collector’s items.

Ed Sheeran expressed his excitement about the partnership by stating, “Seeing my new album, Play, on the Barça shirt is one of those moments I can hardly believe.
“I’ve loved football my whole life, so bringing my music to such an iconic stage and sharing it with fans everywhere means a lot to me.”

Barcelona confirmed that the emblem will first appear on 19 October during the women’s match against Granada CF, before returning for the men’s El Clasico against Real Madrid on 26 October.
Forward Robert Lewandowski also commented on the special kit, noting,
“Ed’s songs have been part of our dressing-room playlist for a long time, so seeing his new album on our shirt for El Clasico is really special.
“Music and football unite fans in powerful ways, and I’m proud to represent that connection on the pitch.”
The club confirms that exclusive editions of the match shirt will go on sale from 15 October at Barça Stores.
