Chelsea fans make the same point about Tyrique George after his England Under-21s display

Chelsea’s Tyrique George completed 90 minutes on Monday night as England’s Under-21s side beat Andorra.

England U21s secured a 1-0 home win over Andorra U21s in a qualifying match for the 2027 Euros.

Tyrique George, who’s a product of the Chelsea academy, led the line for Lee Carsley’s Young Lions. The 19-year-old attacker scored the winner with a thunderous left-footed finish into the roof of the net, too.

Even though George is a left-winger by trade, Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has started to use him more frequently as cover for the striker position. He’s got one goal and one assist in five Blues appearances across all competitions this season.

It’s been reported that George is likely to exit Chelsea midway through the season when the January window opens after narrowly missing out on a move to Fulham in the summer.

Could his form for club and country change that, though?

After George’s latest performance for England U21s, Chelsea fans on X have admitted that the teenager has started to look the part as a centre-forward.

One fan wrote: “Tyrique George is definitely showing improvements playing as a striker. Dropping in more and drifting wide. “

“Maresca has done well to profile George as a striker,” another commented.

One supporter posted: “What if George is actually a striker?”

“George has really been so good on his shooting man. Has really improved not only as a winger but as much as a striker,” another claimed.
