Alleyne wins player of the match award for England Under-21s

Alleyne has played every minute of the Young Lions' two matches this week and was rewarded for his performance at Pride Park as Lee Carsley's side continued their 100% record in Euro 2027 qualification.

The defender, who has impressed during his temporary switch from Manchester City so far this term, lined up alongside the likes of Rico Lewis, Jobe Bellingham and Ethan Nwaneri in the victory.

It was hardly the most testing evening for Carsley's side, who had 78% possession and faced just one shot.

A compilation of Alleyne's performance on social media, however, showed the kind of technical ability that Watford fans have become accustomed to from the defender.

Alleyne has made nine appearances for the Hornets so far this season, scoring an own goal last time out against Oxford but earning plaudits for his performances in general.

He is highly-rated in the international setup, too, receiving caps at every age group from U17s through to U21s.
