‘They’ll back him’: Gareth Barry States Everton Fans can get the Best out of Jack Grealish

Former Everton midfielder Gareth Barry insists that the fans will be key in allowing Jack Grealish to flourish.

Grealish has followed a similar career path to that of Barry, playing for Aston Villa and Manchester City, before a loan move to Everton.

Indeed, Barry was superb for the Toffees, eventually making his move to Goodison Park a permanent one.

Speaking with Sky Sports, the former midfielder insists that Grealish can also make a success of his move to the Toffees.

He said: “It is a move Jack needed. I think Jack needed regular football. He needed the love from his manager to go out there, and go ‘show me what you can do’.

“Not too many instructions. Just go and be Jack Grealish. And I feel he’ll get that at Everton with David Moyes.

“Having played with the Everton fans, they’ll back him. They’ll get right behind him. And if Jack does what he does, he will have a great season. He’s already started well. I’m sure he can improve on that as well.”

GREALISH FEELING THE LOVE AT EVERTON CAN ONLY BE A GOOD THING FOR THE TOFFEES

Grealish has already established himself as a fan favourite at the club, breathing new life into his career and Everton’s midfield.

His stoppage time winner against Crystal Palace resulted in the most chaotic celebrations Hill Dickinson has seen to date.

With four assists in seven league games, the 30-year-old has added a creative spark to the Toffees not seen for some time.

His Performances so far this season have already earned him a Premier League Player of the Month award, astonishingly the first of his career.

He’s already spoken about the love he’s felt from the fans since his arrival, and the feeling is certainly mutual.

With a World Cup on the horizon, Grealish will be motivated to work his way into Thomas Tuchel’s plans.

Indeed, that can only be a good thing for the Toffees.

And if he continues to perform at a high standard, Evertonians will worship him.
