Matt LaFleur Reveals Big Injury Update On Lukas Van Ness

There have been a few defining themes, both good and bad, throughout the Green Bay Packers‘ 2025 season to date, but the biggest concern has been injuries.

Green Bay has been hit with the injury bug in several areas, and to this point, offensive linemen being banged up has been their biggest concern.

That concern could quickly shift to the defensive side of the ball, as Lukas Van Ness will be sidelined due to a foot injury.

Matt LaFleur provided a much-needed update on Monday, as Bill Huber shared on X, but it wasn’t necessarily what fans were looking for.

“We definitely avoided something serious, but how long he’ll be out remains to be seen,” LaFleur said.

As LaFleur mentioned, Van Ness’ foot issues aren’t serious, but with an undetermined timeline, this Packers defense could be without him for several weeks.

The timing of this isn’t as bad as it could have been, as the Packers’ schedule is considerably lighter over the next few weeks than it was earlier in the season.

Their next three opponents are the Arizona Cardinals, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Carolina Panthers, three teams they should have a marked edge on, Van Ness or not.

With any luck, Van Ness will be able to take the next few weeks to rest up and get fully healthy, ready to contribute to this Packers team that has some tough games coming up on the schedule after this easier stretch.

Micah Parsons might be the most notable name on this defense, but Van Ness has been a valued member as well, and any piece that can contribute on this side of the ball is crucial.
