Between 2021 and 2025, the musician's Mathematics tour logo adorned the front of his beloved Blues kits as the club climbed from League One to the Premier League.
That sponsorship slot has now been taken over by rapidly-growing Suffolk software business HALO - the biggest deal of its kind in the club's history - though the logo for Sheeran's hot sauce brand 'Tingly Ted's' appears on the sleeves.
It has now been announced that the logo for Sheeran's latest album, 'Play', will be on the front of Barcelona's shirts as a one off for the upcoming men's and women's El Clasico clashes with rivals Real Madrid later this month.
Through their partnership with Spotify, Barcelona are putting different musicians on their shirts over the course of this campaign. Sheeran will become the seventh after Travis Scott, Coldplay, Karol G, The Rolling Stones, Rosalía and Drake.
Sheeran, who owns a 1.4% stake in Ipswich Town, said: “Seeing my new album, Play, on the Barça shirt is one of those moments I can hardly believe. I’ve loved football my whole life, so bringing my music to such an iconic stage and sharing it with fans everywhere means a lot to me."
There will only be 1,899 "match quality" shirts made, while an "even more exclusive" collection of just 22 tops will be signed by players.
