The Hippodrome once dazzled Clevelanders with marble halls and velvet seats.
A century later, it’s back in spirit — this time with valet service, chef-driven dining and and an atmosphere built for Cleveland’s biggest nights.
The Cleveland Cavaliers and Los Angeles–based hospitality firm The h.wood Group have teamed up to create HIPP, a private, members-only luxury club set to open for the 2025–26 NBA season.
Designed by global firm Populous, HIPP is limited to 100 members and offers a fully personalized experience. Perks include a private entrance with valet, chef-driven plated meals, a supper club–style atmosphere, custom cocktails, a curated wine list, unlimited concessions and access to all clubs within Rocket Arena.
Members will also get access to exclusive experiences, both inside Rocket Arena and off-site. Before its transformation, the area functioned as a back-of-house workshop where staff constructed sets and staging for concerts and special events.
“HIPP sets the global benchmark for luxury in sports and entertainment,” Nic Barlage, CEO of Rock Entertainment Group, Cleveland Cavaliers and Rocket Arena, said in a news release. “Through our partnership with The h.wood Group, we are unveiling an unmatched concept in the industry — HIPP is an experience unlike any other.”
Founded in 2008 by John Terzian and Brian Toll, The h.wood Group is known for creating high-end nightlife and hospitality venues, including Delilah, The Nice Guy, Bootsy Bellows and Harriet’s. The company has expanded internationally and produces large-scale events at major cultural moments like Coachella, Formula 1, Cannes and Art Basel.
HIPP’s design draws directly from the Hippodrome Theatre, which opened in 1907 on Euclid Avenue and was once one of the world’s largest and most ornate playhouses.
The launch of HIPP is the latest move in the Cavaliers’ broader strategy to offer more exclusive, high-touch experiences inside Rocket Arena.
Since completing a $185 million renovation in 2019, the Cavs have opened seven premium clubs, including the Caesars Rewards Club and the Lexus Signature Club.
The sixth addition, the Caesars Rewards Club, opened last fall after the team converted the former Caesars Sportsbook into a dedicated premium space.
