La Liga giants Barcelona have on Tuesday announced a fresh fitness setback in the club’s first-team ranks.
The Blaugrana star set for an incoming spell on the sidelines? Robert Lewandowski.
Frontman Lewandowski for his part spent the last week away from Catalunya’s capital on international duty, with Poland.
The 37-year-old even managed to find the net in a 2-0 World Cup qualifying victory over Lithuania this past Sunday.
As alluded to above, though, his latest exploits on the national team front have come at a cost.
Lewandowski returned to base in Barcelona on Tuesday morning, before being immediately put through a round of medical scans and tests.
And unfortunately, as alluded to above, as much confirmed an injury blow.
As per a statement across Barca’s website and social media platforms:
‘Robert Lewandowski has suffered a muscle tear in the biceps femoris of his left thigh. His recovery time will depend on how the injury evolves.’
