Wrexham co-owner Ryan Reynolds is rumoured to have been in contact with officials at Man City.
Wrexham’s Hollywood owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac have put the club on the global map, earning three-straight promotions since their 2021 takeover.
Not only that, but the club is making real progress off the pitch. Just this summer, Wrexham spent a staggering £33million on new players with their revenue streams only growing and becoming more lucrative.
But as Wrexham’s rise up the ladder continues, they find themselves constantly playing catch up. This summer, Phil Parkinson revealed how Wrexham are playing catch up with the youth academy.
Not just that, though, as Reynolds is now rumoured to have been in touch with Premier League giants Man City with regards to improving the recruitment set up in North Wales.

Wrexham look to Man City for recruitment advice
Wrexham’s recruitment system has looked a bit manic over the last few years. They’ve spent well and have obviously had success in what they do, with Parkinson often focussing on signing players with experience. This summer though we’ve seen a few more younger names arriving at the club.
And now, an emerging report from CEO Today, on Reynolds and Wrexham, has revealed that there’s ‘speculation’ Reynolds ‘has reached out to contacts within Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City setup for advice on scouting and analytics’.
Man City are obviously a world class football club with a likewise set up. If Wrexham can put together a recruitment system anything like City’s then the club will go places. And if the rumours are true then it’s another ode to just how ambitious the club really is.

Kieffer Moore knows where Wrexham are heading
It’s often cited how Mac and Reynolds truly believe Wrexham can reach the Premier League. From there, expect the owners to keep on investing and who knows where the club could be in five or ten years.
It’s clear that they’re putting things in place to eventually be a Premier League team: with the improvements to the academy and the stadium, their ongoing branding mission around the world and the sheer amount of money being pumped into signings and wages too.
Speaking recently, Kieffer Moore predicted Wrexham to make the Premier League, saying: “The sky is the limit. You only have to look at what’s happened over the last few years, the stand they’re building and the infrastructure being put in place.
“The club is definitely destined for the Premier League. When a club comes up from League One and spends £30m, it shows the intent of what they want to achieve.”
With Reynolds in touch with Man City, it’s clear that he’s looking to emulate the very best in the game.
