The Oklahoma City Thunder are champions for multiple reasons, but one of the biggest is their lead star, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
At this point, Gilgeous-Alexander has received just about all the praise and accolades that a young star could, and he has the support and respect of his fellow players.
Chet Holmgren recently talked about Gilgeous-Alexander, and he summarized what makes him so scary to the rest of the league.
“Shai’s the scariest type of person to play against, because no matter what you do or say, you can’t even get a reaction out of the guy. He just goes out there and kills,” Holmgren said.

It sounds like Gilgeous-Alexander is cold-blooded and not intimidated by the rest of the NBA, despite what they say or how they play.
This is an important aspect of Gilgeous-Alexander’s game, and it shows just how much he believes in himself and what he can accomplish.
That belief in himself will surely grow in the new season, especially now that he’s a champion, MVP, and Finals MVP.
Of course, Gilgeous-Alexander isn’t the only talented performer in OKC.
Holmgren himself has been sensational since entering the league two seasons ago.
Last year, he averaged 15.0 points and 8.0 rebounds.
Unfortunately, injuries prevented him from playing in more than 32 games, and he is hoping to be on the court much more often in 2025-26.
The Thunder have been working hard over the years to build a deep roster.
They are thankful for Gilgeous-Alexander and his attitude and confidence, but they are now champions because they have several star players beside him.
