Analyst Proposes Blockbuster Bucks, Pistons Trade

The Detroit Pistons are one of the most thrilling teams in the NBA right now.

Over the last few years, they have rebounded in a huge way and are now filled with multiple promising stars.

But if they play their cards right, they could get one of the largest talents in the league later this year.

Over at Bleacher Report, Andy Bailey wrote about how the Pistons could land Giannis Antetokounmpo if he demands a trade from the Milwaukee Bucks.

In this hypothetical package, the Detroit Pistons would receive Antetokounmpo, while the Milwaukee Bucks would get Tobias Harris, Jaden Ivey, Ausar Thompson, a 2027 first-round pick, a 2029 first-round pick, and a 2031 first-round pick.

“Detroit would have two top 10-15 players, with a supporting cast that would still include a rim-running double-double machine (Jalen Duren), shooting (from Duncan Robinson) and a promising young wing (Holland). This particular offer gives the Bucks Tobias Harris, an expiring contract that could be flipped in another trade later. It gives them two potential foundational talents in Jaden Ivey and Thompson. And perhaps most importantly, for a team almost completely devoid of future draft assets, it gives Milwaukee multiple unprotected first-round picks. This is the kind of trade package that could make the Bucks seriously consider a fresh start.” Bailey wrote.

Rumors of Antetokounmpo’s departure usually involve teams like the New York Knicks, but there is no reason why the Bucks wouldn’t consider this from Detroit.

After all, it ultimately doesn’t matter where Antetokounmpo wants to go.

If he tells Milwaukee he wishes to leave, they will work to secure a package that works best for them and their future without him.

He may hope to play in New York, Miami, or Los Angeles, but the Bucks will only move forward with an arrangement that helps them.

This potential trade would definitely give them a new beginning, but Detroit wouldn’t be the only team trying to get Antetokounmpo.

If it comes to this, Milwaukee will be receiving phone calls from front offices all over the NBA.
