The 37-year-old has returned from international duty with Poland with a muscle tear and will miss the next four weeks, according to multiple reports.
Lewandowski will therefore sit out games against Girona and Olympiacos in the coming week as well as El Clasico against Real Madrid on October 26th.
The veteran is also expected to be sidelines for the matches against Elche, Club Brugge and Celta Vigo.
Lewandowski has had to accept a reduced role this season but is still an important member of the squad and has netted four times for Hansi Flick’s side.
His absence will be another blow, particularly with Raphinha and Dani Olmo sidelined and Lamine Yamal and Fermin Lopez still on their way back from injury lay-offs.
Ferran Torres is just about fit, despite returning early from the Spain squad, while Flick will be crossing his fingers that in-form Marcus Rashford emerges unscathed from England’s World Cup qualifier against Latvia later.
