Deebo Samuel joins chorus of players giving love to Fred Warner

Deebo Samuel may not have a lot of love for the San Francisco 49ers these days, but that certainly didn't stop him from joining the plethora of non-Niners players around the league who showed their support to Fred Warner on Sunday.

Warner, of course, suffered a devastating injury to his right ankle in the first quarter of San Francisco's Week 6 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

With just under eight minutes to play in the opening frame, Bucs running back Rachaad White scampered for a 10-yard gain on first down, and as Warner attempted to tackle him, White cut inside him, at which point Niners safety Ji'Ayir Brown brought him down. In doing so, however, Brown's legs rolled into the back of Warner's ankle, and it was later revealed that Warner had suffered both a fracture and a dislocation, thus ending the four-time All-Pro's season.

Not long after the situation unfolded, Samuel took to his X account to offer up a short but uplifting message to his former teammate, simply saying, "Cmon 54. God gotcha twin."

Prior to being traded to the Washington Commanders this past March, Samuel, a second-round pick of San Francisco in 2019, had spent his entire NFL career alongside Warner, who joined San Francisco as a third-round selection a year earlier.

During their six seasons together, the duo helped the Niners to four postseason appearances, four appearances in the NFC Championship Game, and two trips to the Super Bowl, both of which resulted in losses to the Kansas City Chiefs.

It's hard not to respect a guy like Warner, and, again, while Deebo may not have a lot of love for the 49ers organization as a whole right now, he clearly still has a lot of love for No. 54.

Warner himself took to social media on Monday, posting his first message since the unfortunate incident on Instagram, and his words certainly went along with what Samuel posted.

"There’s certain games you wake up knowing it’s gonna be your day, and yesterday was one of those days. I knew I was bout to go off, and then boom everything over in one instant that was completely unpreventable. The love everyone has shown me and the prayers being had for me mean the world to me. Some ask why I was able to smile on the cart heading in and it’s because (aside from the shock) I have complete peace in knowing Gods plan is so completely perfect and I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be. I’ve had the privilege of being able to have a very healthy 8 seasons and now it’s time to inspire through the comeback I’m bout to have. It will be LEGENDARY and right on time God willing. Thank you guys, love always GO NINERS🙏🏾❤️"
