The Golden State Warriors are set to open their season on Oct. 21 against the Los Angeles Lakers, marking star point guard Stephen Curry's 17th year in the NBA.
Curry, 37, has made it clear that his primary goal at this stage of his career is competing for another NBA championship. With Jimmy Butler, Draymond Green, and solid contributors like Al Horford, Jonathan Kuminga, and even Curry's brother Seth, he believes the team has the pieces to make a run.
"Obviously everything has to go right, health-wise," Curry said. "Jimmy adds another dynamic that we didn't even have back then [in 2022], so I'm excited to see it all the way through."

On Tuesday, the NBA announced a historic milestone for Curry ahead of the Warriors' season opener against L.A. - he’ll become the 10th player ever to play 17 or more seasons with a single team. Of the other nine, six spent their entire careers with one franchise.
Curry now joins the likes of Dirk Nowitzki, who played 21 seasons with the Dallas Mavericks; Kobe Bryant, who spent 20 seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers; and Udonis Haslem, Tim Duncan, John Stockton, and Reggie Miller.
Curry recently opened up about his retirement timeline, admitting that the end of his career is starting to feel closer than ever.
"No clue. I just know it's closer than it was even yesterday," Curry said. "Acknowledging it is fun, because the more I talk about it, the more I appreciate what all goes into preparing yourself. But all of that stuff is just the privilege that you've earned. I'm trying not to put any timestamps on it-just a sense of urgency now."
