Stephen A. Smith Says Two More NFL Coaches Could Be Fired Soon, And One Might Surprise You

The NFL coaching carousel is heating up. As teams reassess their leadership, analyst Stephen A. Smith took the internet by storm after naming two well-renowned coaches who could soon join Titans HC Brian Callahan on the chopping block.

In the StephenSmith show, the ESPN analyst stated:

Brian Callahan has now been fired as the head coach of the Tennessee Titans. “I’m willing to guess for you, ladies and gentlemen. Mike McDaniel of the [Miami] Dolphins won’t be far behind. And neither may Aaron Glenn of the New York Jets. I’m just guessing. But I think both situations look very, very bad.”

Since the Tennessee Titans fired Brian Callahan, the league is now concerned with other poor sidelines. Miami Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel and New York Jets coach Robert Saleh, not Aaron Glenn, are the two coaches who might experience the same destiny, as Stevens A. Smith named them in his show.

Callahan had not been fired without a reason. The Titans have struggled this season with a 1-5 record, and there is no indication of improvement since his hiring. Although he inherited a team with a new outlook, Callahan failed to breathe life into the offense and establish some form of consistency at quarterback. The Tennessee line broke down too frequently, the running game stalled, and its defense was unable to rescue it. His 4-19 total record since the previous season was his doom, thus becoming the first head coach to lose this year.

The lens is now focused on McDaniel and Glenn.McDaniel, who was previously declared an offensive genius, is under heavy pressure in Miami. The Dolphins were down to 1-5 following a heart-wrenching loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, who blew a fourth-quarter lead following a commendable comeback. The crime is still shining, yet irregularity, turnover, and injury, such as the absence of Tyreek Hill, have ruined their season. Critics now wonder whether McDaniel has creative plans to the extent of covering up underlying roster weaknesses.

On the other hand, the inaugural season of Aaron Glenn with the Jets has not been kind as well. The group is the only one without a win in the NFL, as they lost 13-11 to the Denver Broncos last Sunday. Although the defense proves promising at times, Glenn still manages to break down at crucial points and continues to squander reasonable defensive efforts. The fact that three of the games have been lost by only two points has only increased their frustration, and fans are wondering whether it has been caused by bad in-game management.

Though it is speculative, Smith is making music in an otherwise impatient league. The two coaches had been viewed as young and bright prospects; yet, in an NFL where success is measured by wins and losses, good intentions can quickly fade when the team’s fortunes turn sour.

After Smith made a bold take, fans overwhelmed X with a combination of feelings. Others refuted his remarks as a way to gain attention, and others shared his feelings.

A fan posted, “Fired because Cam Ward is Jamarcus Russell 2.0. Worst I’ve seen in a long time.”

Some even mentioned Jerry Jones: “CELEBRATING COACHES’ TERMINATIONS IS NOTHING TO LAUD……I BET A LOT OF PEOPLE WOULD LOVE TO FIRE JERRY JONES RIGHT NOW!!!!🤔🤔🤔🤔”

Others chimed, “Dolphins coach is next .”

Onefan voiced his opinion, stating, “ Titans pulling the trigger on Callahan after that 1-5 dumpster fire? Bold move, but you’re spot on—Black Monday’s coming early this year. Dolphins’ McDaniel sweating bullets at 0-5, Giants’ Daboll got that “one more loss” vibe. Who’s next: Fangio in Philly or the whole Jets staff?”

Fan usernamed Jadecrimson stated,” Don’t forget about Zac Taylor.”

Stephen A. Smith might be making some bold predictions, but his instincts often reflect what’s happening in the league. As we head into Week 7, the Dolphins and the Jets are at a critical turning point.

Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel needs to get things under control before ownership loses patience, while the Jets, led by owner Woody Johnson, hope to secure their first win and quiet the critics. It’s still up in the air whether Smith’s predictions will hit the mark, but one thing’s for sure: the NFL coaching hot seat is definitely warming up.
