Giants Linked to Disgruntled 49ers Star Ahead of Trade Deadline

The New York Giants may have found their franchise quarterback in Jaxson Dart, but the team is also missing quite a few components to be truly competitive. One of those components is wide receiver, which took a major hit when Malik Nabers suffered a season-ending injury.

That said, the Giants are now being linked to a San Francisco 49ers star ahead of the trade deadline.

According to NFL analyst Chase Senior, the Giants are reportedly interested in 49ers star receiver Jauan Jennings. Ahead of the 2025 season, there were plenty of reports that Jennings was not happy with his current contract.

Jennings was awarded up to $3 million in playing incentives, but injuries have led to him not having a good start to the year. He only has 136 yards and one touchdown through four games.

There was also a heated moment between the receiver and Kyle Shanahan that could point to a fractured relationship.

Shanahan did state that the incident was simply two passionate individuals being caught up in the moment, but Jennings was only targeted three times throughout the entire game.

It is hard not to see why Jennings could be frustrated with the team. He also stated that he is suffering from multiple broken ribs and high and low ankle sprains. That could be a big reason why he was not used as much in Week 6.

Either way, Jennings could be a huge acquisition for the Giants. The 49ers are missing George Kittle, Brandon Aiyuk, and Ricky Pearsall due to injuries. Once all return, Jennings may be the odd man out in terms of targets.

Kendrick Bourne is also emerging as a quality pass catcher, which could lead to the 49ers shopping Jennings.

The Giants need help at wide receiver since losing Nabers, and they are likely going to call teams about the position. They could get Jennings on a good deal, considering his injuries and the fact that he is not the go-to target for the 49ers.
