The New York Jets’ trip to London turned into one of the ugliest offensive displays in recent memory — and much of the backlash centered on quarterback Justin Fields, who had a scary moment when he lost his helmet while taking a sack.
Still, Hall of Fame quarterback Kurt Warner stepped in to defend Fields, calling out fans who, in his view, were unfairly targeting the Jets’ signal-caller after a historically bad loss.

The Jets fell 13–11 to the Denver Broncos at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, dropping to 0–6 on the season. New York’s offense managed just 82 total yards and finished with –10 net passing yards — the lowest mark in franchise history, and lost their star player to injury in a brutal blow.

Fields was sacked nine times, including a costly fourth-down play that ended a promising drive. Head coach Aaron Glenn said afterward that Fields “took a step back,” but maintained that he wouldn’t make a quarterback change.
"When you look at what Justin did, the games that he played, listen, I didn't think he was bad at all," Glenn said. "I actually thought he did some pretty good things in those four games."
"In this fifth game, he took a step back. I'm with you guys 100%. And we can't have that. And we have to get better than that, and he knows that."

The performance immediately sparked outrage among fans, many of whom took to social media to rip Fields for missing open receivers and failing to push the ball downfield.
Warner voiced his frustration not just with the Jets’ conservative play calling but with what he viewed as misinformed criticism of Fields.
Responding to fans who claimed Fields missed easy throws, Warner wrote on social media: “STOP already… the first read on this play is the FLAT always, he’s open u throw it, period, end of story!!"
"Man it’s crazy I have to keep doing this with ppl who don’t understand a playcall or the position! Better to just ask someone who does before attacking ppl… thanks.”

One fan lamented, “Another potential big play missed by Fields, this time it’s Mason Taylor,” but Warner was quick to shut it down.
“Man, here we go again… don’t like the concept bc the outside WR running a clear out from tight alignment allows safety to stay tight enough that he can play both that & corner route you say is ‘Wide Open’!!!”
Warner’s defense of Fields came amid increasing calls from fans to bench the quarterback, with some even suggesting backup Tyrod Taylor should take over. But the former Super Bowl MVP urged patience, reminding critics that not all problems stem from the quarterback.
